Did you know, that you can no longer create new Basic accounts on Livejournal?!?!?

Just Sponsored+ and Paid. Old Basic accounts stay, but you can't create new. linkApparently, "The reason we did not mention them in the news post was because it doesn't affect users other than new users and News updates are for existing users

I know right! Especially because all you had to do was click 'next' if you didn't know what you wanted, to get the default Sponsored!

I'd have left, too, except I stay for the people. I'm extraordinarily attached to my flist and don't want to lose anyone by moving LJs. :(

Exactly! Especially since even if you wanted to make the sign-up process easier you could still keep the option to downgrade to Basic later on. So, it's totally about the money.

I didn't even go over there and leave an angry comment like I've done so many times in the past(seriously, LJ, how many mistakes can you make until it becomes willful stupidity?). They are just going to ignore us anyway or post more condescending shit like "I'm sorry you don't understand that LJ is a business~" == Yeah, like that's the problem.

Exactly. I don't even hope anymore that SUP would be better - they ARE in it just for money, and that's their priority, not making a good blogging site.
