*cackles* I, too managed to grab my copy of the Sapphire ROM, taking a Treeko starter, and playing to the second town. Man, did they ever make this game visually impressive compared to the last three games

Pokemon Sapphire and Ruby aren't as impressive as, say, Golden Sun..in my opinion, but it's a big bound from Gold and Silver, just a shame the Pokemon don't animate as much. And you don't see the trainer pop up to throw a Pokeball at the wild Pokemon

Just took a look at Treeko, it starts with Pound and Growl, and gets Absorb at level 7.
