Rocky Bits [Tuesday afternoon]

Mar 23, 2010 11:38

The fog that had met him when he'd arrived earlier hadn't burned off as the sun grew warmer, and the niggling bad feeling in the back of Anakin's mind hadn't disappeared either, so after a productive morning of traumatizing students, Anakin went out for a quick patrol around the island, Jedi senses alert for anything that seemed out of place ( Read more... )

After he finished class, Max wandered out into the fog. He'd planned to do... well, something productive. Maybe grab something to eat and work on lesson plans (yeah, right). But the fog was... disconcerting.

Of course a lot of things about Fandom were disconcerting, and weather was weird at the best of times, so he wasn't really all that worried about things. Despite the tingling sensation at the back of his neck. He figured he could find someone with more experience on island, Ghani maybe, and ask whether he should be worried.

But while Max didn't plan to do anything about the fog, it was odd enough that he was distracted, and somehow got turned around. And now he realized that he was nearing the top of the Rocky Bits.

He shrugged to himself. Well, he'd come this far, he might as well see if the fog was any thinner that high up.

Max froze, shoulders tensing. He'd heard... something. The time he'd spent walking around in the fog meant that whatever it was it didn't sound human at all. His head swiveled slowly as he tried to peer through the fog and see what it was.

It could be completely docile and harmless, after all.

Many, many people had called Anakin "docile and harmless" over the years.

Wait, no. Nope, not once.

"Show yourself!" he demanded, walking closer to the noise that definitely didn't sound human. His Force-sense wasn't offering up anything in terms of concrete help right now, either. He already knew this wasn't a terrific idea, so the danger-sense was kind of useless.
