Anakin was running a little behind today (for some reason Rory hadn't been all that anxious to let him leave the house...), but after getting a slightly garbled version of what had gone on last week, he had a feeling that people might be a little interested in checking in on him today

Raven really wasn't ready to see anyone yet, but for one person she'd make an exception. She teleported herself to the school, and though she was trying to keep her emotions tightly shielded, she was probably leaking sorrow and guilt.

"Professor Skywalker?" she said hesitantly. She almost wasn't sure she could trust her eyes that he was there.

"That is coming far too fast," Raven murmured. Less than a month now.

She nodded. "I need to be prepared to live among normal humans."

"Have you decided where you're going?" Anakin asked.

She'd been in Kaeleer for so much of the summer she hadn't had a chance to talk to him about that yet. "I was accepted into Gotham University," Raven said. "In Dinah's world, not mine. I had planned to only go for a year until Karla graduates, then go to Kaeleer with her."

"Then you definitely need to talk to her at the very least," Anakin decided. "You'll be part of her life."

Stop being all logical, Anakin.

"I know," Raven said quietly. "I am just...afraid." It burned her pride to admit that out loud, even though it was painfully obvious.

"I know," Anakin said. "It's never easy to admit your weaknesses to people who matter to you."

"It is too soon, though," Raven said. "Their pain is still too fresh. I will leave them be for now, until they are ready."

"Just don't leave it too long," Anakin said. "Until you talk to them, you don't know how they feel. You might be giving yourself guilt and anxiety for no reason."
