She was going to be getting a lot of "Holy--!" as a conversation-opener today, though Xander went the extra step and filled in "--crap, Cally?!"

Nicky, for his part, actually looked over at Xander for a moment before burying his face against his mother.

"Would this memo include a no-hugs clause?" Xander asked, weighing the possibility that it might, considering unexpected small child was unexpected. "Because holy crap!"

"There is definitely no no hugs clause," Cally said. "Just make sure not to smush Nicky here."

She adjusted her child so that she had a free arm for said hugging. "It's really good to see you."

Cally laughed, a little bit humorlessly. "I've been really good since I got here," she said, hoping the implications would be enough for now. "And that 'sFandom, I mean. Not the party specifically. Though this is pretty good too."
