Xander and Bridge did not grab a portal from THE FUTURE just for the bouncy castle, no matter what certain cat-eared scientists might have implied when they were requesting the time off.

Rory, with the birthday girl on her hip, hurried over to greet both of them. "Did you guys come for the pony?" she asked excitedly. "Also, hi."

"Not if you want the pony to live," Xander replied, looking down at all six-feet, two-twenty of himself. "Also, hi, pretty ladies."

"You can still pet it," she decided before bouncing Juliet a bit. "Can you say hi, Juliet?"

"Hi!" Juliet declared with all the pride that came with having a one year-old's vocabulary. She even flailed a hand in what might have been a wave.

(Juliet also often said hi to trees, and rocks, and she'd said it to the pony earlier. So don't be too impressed.)

Hey, the trees and rocks were probably impressed; why shouldn't Xander be?

"Probably best for all concerned," said Xander, waving back with slightly less flail. "I've been a pony; I'd feel weird about riding one."

"Mmm, the things I missed out on," Rory said, oh so wistfully. "But whatever, means I get to ride the pony now. And you should totally play in the bouncy castle. There's no size limit for that. Anakin was in there earlier."

"Busy," she said, shrugging. "If I play my cards right, I'll graduate in winter. And then I have to go look for a big girl job and everything. How're things in The Future?" Totally pronounced caps there, yes.

"My big boy job is mostly cleaning up after my big boy husband and his teammates break things," Xander answered with e snerk.

Bridge was... a good sight shorter than Xander, but not quite pony-sized either. "I don't know if I'd fit," he mused, although yeah, he was eyeing that bouncy castle. It looked more structurally sound than some of Newtech's high-rises! (The ones that Xander hadn't had a hand in building, anyway)

"Hey!" he greeted. "Holy crap she's all big!" Bridge, that was not baby-appropriate language.

"She's getting that way. Make her stop," Rory said, looking pained as Juliet shrieked a happy, "Hi!" at him.

"You could at least try," Rory decided as Juliet squirmed to get down. "How've you been? I haven't seen you, like, since she was barely crawling." It was weird how Juliet was a little time gauge for her.
