After his weekly sparring session with Ben, Anakin was in his office putting up new photos of baby Juliet on his wall.

She was three weeks old now! A lot had changed! She was sleeping three hours at a stretch now--which was why Anakin was not sleeping meditating in his chair for once.

The door was open.

"Your daughter is lovely," Raven said from the doorway.

Anakin beamed. "She looks just like her mother, fortunately," he said.

"Will she be a Jedi, like you?" Raven asked curiously. "Or is it too soon to know?"

[sith_happened]

"She's strong in the Force already," Anakin said. "I could tell that from the beginning. But the choice to be Jedi will be hers to make much, much later."

[trigons_child]

"Would you teach her if she chose so?" Raven asked. "Or would someone else because you are her father?" She dropped her head and blushed. "I apologize that I have so many questions. I am fascinated by your world."

[sith_happened]

"It will involve a very long discussion with her mother before anything is decided," he said with a smile. "In my time, Force-sensitive children were sent to the Temple almost immediately. We're not doing that."

Ever.

"As the only Jedi Master in Fandom, it would make sense for me to train her, but being her father makes it...more complicated. My grandson was trained by his father, but I'm not sure that's entirely the right path, either."

"I learned of your grandson this past week," Raven said, making the wrong conclusion. "I am very sorry."

Anakin blinked. "I think you'll have to be more specific," he said. "I have three grandsons."

Two dead in various timelines, all unborn is his own. Anakin tried not to dwell too much on that.

"The one who shares your name," Raven clarified. "I am sorry, I did not know there was more than one."

[sith_happened]

"One's a student here," Anakin said. "His name is Ben. Anakin...died...almost a year ago, in Jaina's timeline."

He paused. "And Tahiri's, I suppose."

[trigons_child]

"I do not know Ben or Jaina," Raven said, "but I shared a room with Tahiri while we were visiting Arrakis. She was...troubled."

[sith_happened]

Anakin nodded. "She and Anakin were very close."

[trigons_child]

"I wanted to help her," Raven said, "but she refused. I know I should not use my gifts on another without their permission, but she clings to her pain and I cannot understand why."

[sith_happened]

"Because it's familiar," said the man who'd flayed himself with guilt and regret for close to two decades.

[trigons_child]

"It is against my nature to not help her, or anyone else who is in pain," Raven said, frowning.

[sith_happened]

"Most of humanity isn't as enlightened as those who raised you," Anakin said. "Pain teaches us things."
