I'm applying for internships to work on organic farms for the next year-ish, and I'm going to apply for grad school for Fall 2012. What about you?? Are you still in Chicago?

Sounds good. I got out of Chicago in August. I'm feeling a lot more like myself again. It was a dark time!

I am living in Lafayette taking care of my grandparents right now, taking it easy, working on creative projects, taking classes, cooking.

I am trying to figure out what I will do in the future, probably go back to school as well.

Awesome - glad to hear you're doing better, in that case! Any idea what you would study?

I too read Little Bee this year. (Barely got it finished before the New Year, actually). Very good read. Filled with gems.

Yes, I loved it. I forgot to mention "The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie". I liked that one a lot too.

What other excellent things did you read this year? Any recommendations?

From my 2010 list, the top three books I would recommend

"The War of Art" by Stephen Pressfield.

"In a Sunburned Country" by Bill Bryson

"Stranger in a Strange Land" by Robert Heinlein if you can handle a little bit of the science fiction; much more of a introspection on humanity than science fiction, though.
