I'm just starting some research on television and international relations, and I'm trying to see what else people are thinking about when it comes to academic research and pop culture. If you don't mind, what field is your MA going to be in?

Sounds like a topic that could work for all sorts of programs--poli sci, women's studies, communications, media studies...although the media studies folks are the most open to pop culture research. Plus they have cool video equipment. And they're pretty open to interdisciplinary stuff, so the psych BA wouldn't be a problem.
My little sis is finishing up a MSp degree in school psych, and she seems to think that pop culture isn't much of a hot topic in psych. Could be just her focus, though. I know it's a fringe topic in Intl Relations, but there are people starting to talk about it.
I blame West Wing, by the way. If I didn't watch it, I wouldn't care about poli sci and pop culture. Not that I'm complaining.
Are you in school for your Master's? I didn't know that - assuming it's in Psychology?
My mom's a psychotherapist here, she's taught at Mercer (that was for MSW students because she has her Ph.D in Psychology but her Master's in Social Work). She's been doing some work this semester with Valdosta State for their MSW program but she's tired of teaching, I think.
She's been in private practice in Macon for years, you may have heard of her. Daphne Stevens. If you're at Mercer I'm sure you know Lee Bowen, she's been a friend of his for awhile.

I have no idea where I'm going with this--in fact, I'm not even in grad school yet. I'm interested in women's studies, though--my BA is in psych.
If and when I do anything with it, though, of course you can read it. I'd love someone else's opinion on my ideas.
