Nope, I don't remember the tune at all. I just mostly remember running out to sit outside her room and listen to it!

Your mystery song reminds me quite a bit of Fleetwood Mac's Sisters of the Moon, but that came out in 1979. And from the examples you chose, it sounds like the vocalist was male. Maybe White Room by Cream?
