[LJ2ME] Thank Goodness!!

I'm home!

Somebody missed me.

And, Citi was concerned. I went to Coldstone, Starbucks and Chicos while I was out of town. 2 of those aren't all that unusual. Must have been the WV location.

Funny, you'd think that since I used their card to pay the checked bag fee, they wouldn't have worried!

Citibank took it upon themselves to send us new cards last week and cancel the old ones because of potential fraudulent transactions on our account. I looked and unless they were concerned about the car insurance payment (which we've paid with the Citibank every six months for the past couple of years), or the laptop we bought at Office Max two weeks ago, there was nothing out of the ordinary. I mentioned it to a friend of mine at lunch last week, and they did the same thing to him. I think maybe some automated process got tripped at Citi for a good portion of their customers.

So, it isn't just me then, huh? Good to know. Discover sent me a new card a couple of months ago, but said that was due to some electronic thing.

I have this Canadian friend who pretty much spent most of the last 15 years either in Calgary, AB, or Vancouver, BC (before he moved to the States). One day he got a call from his credit card company asking if he bought a snowboard in Montreal, QC. Since he is a fairly out of shape scientist guy, and he has never been to Quebec province, he kind of figured he didn't buy that snowboard.

The credit card company called within 30 seconds of the purchase. Seems someone swiped his card when he was up in BC, and the profiler software they use flagged it as potentially stolen.
