One response I’ve been cultivating in myself is to remember, whenever someone uses the term “perfect”, that perfection only exists in highly abstract fields like mathematics, and any other use of the term is just hyperbole.
In pure math, sure. π is the relationship between the circumference of a circle and its diameter; that’s a form of perfection. But you can’t draw a perfect circle in the physical world; whatever you use to draw it is made up of bumpy atoms. The mathematical formulae for the shapes of the Pythagorean solids are perfect, but the contents of your dice bag aren’t.
