Is there anything more frustrating than having a Cocteau Twins song stuck in your head? I can hear it. I can hum it. I can fumble for the words. But I can't sing it ( Read more... )

i'm with ya on the Cocteau Twins. Esp because some of the tunes that get stuck give me strong emotional reactions, but since i can't fully replay it in my head, they just float there above my cortex, raining emotions on my brain.

Amazing. You just summed it up exactly. I can actually go to a specific song if, say, I would like to weep uncontrolably for all the babies that I will never hold. (song 9 on Four Calendar Cafe) or I would like to feel warm and snuggly about friendship (third song on Treasure) or I would like to remember that amazing night of sex in my freshman year of college (any song off of Heaven or Las Vegas)....

And yet, no full replay. Just these misty memories and this urge to throw my throat open and sing.

Cocteau Twins always reminds me of Michael's Deli.
And some Morrissey songs..
I can almost smell the grease trap now..
