In again/out again.

Ages ago I discovered this odd hobby where people dress up and go on pilgrimage to a special place where you can be someone else for a couple of days.
It was fun then. You see new (old) stuff, learnt cool stuff and met some amazing people. You know who you are, yes you.

I thought I'd take it a step further and join a local group of like minded ( Read more... )

That's really crud about the group again, but I hope you'll be enthused about helping me out at Abbey if you're still interested! There's tent accomodation (I can bring stretcher bed and extra blankies) and we can do our thing and you can be a part of it. If you need to be part of a group for insurance I can put you under my RMW umbrella so you're covered at other things too! Give it some thought. I went by myself for pretty much the same reason. People. Ugh.

I would be happy to join you. I have bedding and bed and can feed myself.
Insurance/membership fees I will pay as soon as I am instructed as to how to.
I'd be happy to come under whatever umbrella to make this happen.
Much thought has been given and your very generous offer accepted.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Yeah, I have a little bit of time on my hands atm and you've inspired me to do stuff.
So thanks for that. 🥰

So now after a year or more I find myself with some amazing possessions of the medieval flavour that I no longer need. Kit equipment like replica pottery that has been faithfully reproduced, garments that I love, shoes that hurt like the devil but are so right. Head gear that I could never get right, garnet and amber rings made by a talented jeweller and much more. I find it hard to pass on but have no need.
Then there are things that I could never loose, little sewing boxes with depictions of my beloved Rosie Greyhound and silken purses. But other stuff that the normal person just wouldn't understand the ownership of.
Am I bound to go to my afterlife with these things having to be sorted out by my offspring or do I glean the courage to downsize from the depths of my now hollow life? I have the sads.
