I did learn to convert them on Microsoft word, but the sometimes, the formating got a little wonky: to much space between paragraphs, or a huge wall of text.

Unfortunately LJ fic still involves a lot of copy/pasting, but the stuff on ffnet is now a breeze.

I've never tried converting anything to PDF. It sure sounds like a lot of work.
*cough* After Atlantis may have been one of the first stories I converted after downloading Calibre.
