You know, I really love your fanfic. You have a knack for choosing words in precisely the correct way to evoke the best reaction. The last two paragraphs sum it all up perfectly, absolutely perfectly, and it's such a wonderful way of looking at Yuffie. Love. :D
I'm overloading on Yuffie love right now. :D She's just... the anti-emo. So confident. Pretty much unfailingly makes me smile. (Sora's much the same, actually.)
I love this and I really enjoy the voice you have given to Yuffie here. Usually people write her as entirely frenetic and spastic, but you write her as more just supremely confident in herself. I like the way you give her the insight that all of them *are* still just kids, despite what the older ones might think. I love the idea of Yuffie seeing herself as shouldering the burden of the fairy tale hero and the idea that only children can come up with these violent and delightful solutions to fairy tale problems. I had never thought of it that way before myself and I am an avid reader of fairy tales.
I think Yuffie's primary personality trait is confidence, yeah -- she just doesn't question that she's going to come out on top at the end. And I can just see her, seven years old and boiling mad at losing her home, going "Don't try to find a sensible solution to this problem! THIS IS NOT A SENSIBLE PROBLEM! Geez." ;)
