Fic: Wondering (Havoc/Hawkeye, not worksafe)

Mar 27, 2008 18:22

I am for real done with the work project, which means now I'm transcribing and editing all the stuff I wrote in the past few days. It's all shamelessly what I want to write, mostly porny, not a whole lot of plot. Anyway, this is the first. There are, mm, at least three, maybe up to five pieces on the way -- apologies in advance for the spam.

character: jean havoc, rating: not worksafe, pairing: jean havoc/riza hawkeye, genre: m/f, character: riza hawkeye, [fic], fandom: fullmetal alchemist

I think I might love you, you know.

Jean is the best. I may even like him more than Roy and Ed (shock!!) if he didn't smoke, he and I would be perfect lmao.

I love how you write them both, and this pairing, how you write them, is something that I can actually believe in. That's really good.

Well done :D

Thank you so much!

Hawkeye/Havoc is one of those pairings that just seems really... plausible to me, in a weird way. I mean, part of that is that I'm totally fond of both of the characters, and would like to see them happy. But still!

I think my favorite part of this is that at no point does he mention Mustang to her. I think my pet-peeve with Riza/Jean fics are when they have him go for her just because he knows Roy won't steal her away. You've covered his insecurities beautifully, but managed to avoid that one here.

Thank you!

I do like to write the pairing as a self-contained unit, that they're not together because of Mustang or not not together because of Mustang (er... if that makes sense) -- because I think they'd make sense on their own.

I loved this. Havoc is my third-favourite FMA character, and I'm really getting to love fics about him. And Riza is quite complex, so it's lovely to see her portrayed so multi-dimensionally.

Thank you!

I'm extremely fond of Havoc myself. I just want to, I dunno, scruffle his hair and tell him to cheer up about his love life. ;) And of course Hawkeye is one of my favorites, so...

I'm glad you liked it.

As always, a wonderful story. I particularly liked this line, "...a damp, fuzzy lump of injured dignity in front of the sofa. That's a great nugget right there.

You describe your scenes so perfectly, and you incorporate colors so much in your descriptions, that I just now realized you never described what sort of bath it was; bubbles? color? scent?

Just picking a bone with you.

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it.

...haha, you're right. I think what was going on was that Jean wouldn't be able to tell tuberose from sandalwood if it bit him on the nose, so he's not the best observer of bath details. :D But he would notice color changes, etc., of course; I should've been more specific.
