Wow. No matter what happens with this election, history will be made. Either we'll have our first president of African descent (or first mixed race, multi-faith family of origin president), or we'll have our first woman vice president.

Wow.

Weren't those just rumours, though?

That sober reality has me... nervous for some reason. That tickets were chosen to maximize the "historical" aspect of this presidential race.

*sigh*

I think so, too. I think each party knows it's an efficient way to get people to the polls. I have no doubt that McCain's choice of a woman VP was thoroughly planned, but I'm glad he at least picked someone who has a reputation for cross-party cooperation. Whether the rep is an earned one, I don't know, but she's got it

You've heard that she's being investigated for impropriety related to hiring/firing decisions? *sigh*

Not yet, but it doesn't surprise me. This is the same woman who allows aerial hunting of entire wolf packs in her state. :P

Yeah. I have to say, it's a really savy (sp) move on McCain's part. In fact, it concerns me, because I know a great many people will vote for McCain now simply because he has a woman running with him, without necessarily looking closely at her views and qualifications. He now has a better chance of being elected president, which I really don't want to see happen.

I'm there with you. It was a very slick move. I'm still rooting for the just-about-anyone-but-McCain party.
