Honestly, knitting w/ old ladies who only seem to make afghans is not as fun as you think it would be. Maybe you have cooler ol' biddies where you live, but I went to our library's knitting circle and all the ladies there were not fun. I honestly think I was the more experienced knitter there, and I've only been at it for a few years...>.>
Wow, you've been knitting for a while! Maybe you're just ahead of your years. :] I don't even knit, I crochet... But I figured maybe someone would know how to crochet as well.
These ladies seem gossip-y and sometimes loud, but I don't know any where else I can go. I'm not good reading the instructions or copying videos. I need a person to really show me what to do or else I'd screw up. >.>;
Check meetup.com under your city (or close cities) to see if there is a younger crochet or yarnwork club near you. They might be more helpful than a bunch of afghan making grannies (who in my experience seem to be a little on the snobby side).
Patterns still make me all "?" so I just mess around with things until I figure out a way to make what I want. This method has worked for me thus far.
I still think you should open an etsy and sell some of the hundreds of pounds of yarnwork you have done. Really, you might want to sell some before it drowns you out of your house.
