Familiar Faces - Ravens

One of Australias most recognisable birds.

Todays photograph was taken on the edge of the Kuringai National Park. Towards the summer months, I am expecting to see many of them flying around looking for food. An ideal black silhuette against a bright background. I cannot see the eyes, but the beak, feathers, and legs are extremely distinct.

For reasons unknown, ravens are very hard to photograph in flight.

From a crisp blue light, to the darkest of blacks.

A great symbol of intelligence and wisdom.

I too have used a raven on top of my letter-head for many years.
