I know! Hopefully this will all blow over in a couple of days, because while I am still worried about the state of fandom, I'm sort of sick of hearing about it. :-\
I think they'd be nuts to even try and read the comments, because the sheer number of them should be making their inboxes explode, lol. But I do know that a few LJ volunteers are floating about, because I have seen a few replies from LJ staffers. At least, that's who I hope they are, lol.
And you came across perfectly clear! :-) You've pretty much summed up everything that's been bothering me about this entire situation; they should have said something sooner, and not just to CNet. We deserve to know what's going on as well. And it took them what, almost 48 hours to get their message across? During which time fandom implodes and people start rallying against their asses? This seriously breaks some trust between the users and the company. :-\
That's what I was thinking...but then what would be the point of commenting? Or letting us comment anyway. Hm...maybe the have volunteers skim them, and answer the ones that appear to need an actual reply.
Whew. I was worried that my doped up on chocolate-ness would make me a little...overly wordy.
::hugs::
edit: Okies, Now I know I'm exhausted...commenting instead of replying.

And it looks like maybe the volunteers do answer the really pressing statements/comments...eventually.
