Not much going on today, still can't figure out why damned photobucket is resizing my images =\. I think files may be to big, so it's auto-condensing the files making them really small. Lemme think what I did when I got on this morning ( Read more... )

What program are you taking the screenshots with? I use the one in windower, then open with paint and save as jpeg then upload to photobucket.

Never heard of this program but its called:
Windows Picture and Fax viewer

Is there any way to re-route what program is opening the pictures?

It seems my comp is saving them as Bitmap, which I have never even heard of. Trying what you do and changing them to Jpeg, cross your fingers :x

Most of my screenshots are via fraps, then reformatted in Photoshop. Bitmap is one of the largest file sizes used on the internet, while jpeg is one of the smallest for images. Most programs will automatically save pictures as bitmaps just because (I think) that it's one of the only vector-based image file types.

Opening a file in Paint, while it can make it smaller, generally degrades the quality pretty fast. I'd reccomend going to the Adobe homepage and downloading either a trial of Photoshop, or Photoshop Elements. Both programs will have a "Save for Web..." option, which you should use and optimize the file size to under 250k for a free Photobucket account.

Other than that, you're pretty well screwed on screenshots with a photobucket account.

Any more questions about screenshots, image file types, etc I can answer? ;3

It's ok, I had 2 hours to fiddle around with it today while internet was down and got it to work. Just have to open it in paint and save :x

And in other news, beat intermediate minesweeper in 68 seconds :D
