The legal system works best for those willing and with enough money to fight. Sometimes it's best to just let it roll over you and go on with life. I was involved in a fender bender a few weeks ago on a road which is customarily driven as if 2 lanes in each direction (no-parking signs and no edge of road painted line). "illegal passing on the right" -- remember: it was a "one lane road in each direction" -- but the cop told me right at the scene if I show up for court I could ask to have it amended to a 0 point ticket -- I knew at that point I was fucked.

yeah, might have been a good idea (or not :) -- but by then I'd accepted the town's system of fucking outsiders as a policy and we all know there's no point in arguing with "policy"

i think the usa is basically still the 'wild west' every man for himself and about making in profit above all else and "blaming" instead of cooperativing and creating more peace and harmony.

insane ticket fees and laws. things could be handled more peacefully...between people without all the legal junk!

yup, couldn't agree more, Shannon -- my divorce a few years back wound up costing each of us about $20,000 -- such a fucking rip off, although if she hadn't been so difficult, changing her mind every other week, it would have been much less.
