I'm sorry about your hamster! :C *snuggles* I'm worried sick about Lily lately - she's having liver issues and eating almost nothing on her own, so I've been syringe-feeding her every two hours or so. x.x Little animals need to get better, dammit!

The vet gives her weeks to live, so we're basically keeping her happy and comfortable until she goes. She's still fairly happy and greedy and frisky, despite her curved back and walking troubles (old age), so putting her down is absolutely out of the question. When she's in too much pain to walk or eat... maybe. ;_;

Oh no! *hugs you and Lily* What did the vet say? I hope she gets better soon! Is she not eating because she can't or because she won't? :(

That's the best way to go though - staying happy and comfortable and getting spoiled rotten!! You'll know when it's time I'm sure...that's what I've always been told, and it held true for when we had to put down my kitty. Just give her lots and lots of love, which you're already doing, I know. :) And give her some extra snuggles for me! <3 (And some hugs for you as well, of course. *hugs&love*)

She's...got a whole host of problems, honestly. x.x On top of the liver issues, she has urinary issues (though probably caused by the liver, I think), reproductive issues (may need to be spayed sometime in the future, if we get through the liver stuff), and a mass on her chest (tumor, but vet doesn't think it's cancerous). She's not eating because she won't, the liver thing is making her not feel good, and then she's on antibiotics which make her feel yucky too. >< If I can keep her fed until we get her liver back up and running (hopefully), then hopefully she'll start eating more on her own again. She'll eat some of her favorites on her own ( ... )

I will! ♥ Just gave her the morning medication a while ago... which she promptly started licking. (it was an externally-applied cream)

D: D: Oh no! *hugs her and you* *crosses fingers for the mass to stay benign* Aww, that's sad. :( Fuzzball loves her meds, she makes a grab for the little dropper bottles and greedily drinks it all up - painkillers, antibiotics, and oh god does she love the vitamin supplements XD though now we're giving her powdered calcium too which she doesn't like as much - but at least Lily's eating a little? :( I really hope her liver recovers soon and that the vet appointment helps, good luck! *snugs*

Fuzzball is a she, but yeah, she's fairly old for a Dwarf hamster and still seems fairly happy, and I really do take comfort from that and from the fact that we're really spoiling her now. She's a picky eater. XD

Glorious weather? Haha, it's usually either insanely hot or rainy. Thankfully most weddings now are in air-conditioned wedding halls or in air-conditioned hotel ballrooms. >_>

An apocalypse would probably taste of fire and blood and metal. :/ And hahaha, I knew I needed to lose weight but ten vikings? ;) (*hug* The frost is the perfect excuse. D: Wait until it's warmer!)

Cocktail recipes? :D That sounds awesome; when I can eventually drink I might try it.

XDDD Mocktails, maybe.

Awww. But he's still doing well and with you! :D And yeah, at least she's still doing good and seems happy, and sometimes when she seems to be in pain we've got painkillers. Still, it's going to be hard when she dies. :/

Thank you for your advice, by the way, I will have to look up those professors! :) (also, note to self: keep all food hidden when a peacock nears >_>)

*hugs* That's the sad thing about hamsters and mice. They grow old and sick so soon. :(

All the best of luck for startng uni. It may have taken a little longer than expected, but at least you got the chance to study subjects that suit you after all.

*nods and hugs back* She's more than 2 years old and that's already old for a Dwarf hamster; she still has her own personality though and is friendly and greedy and... on one hand I will be really sad if she dies soon, but on the other hand I'll also feel horrible if I'm in Australia when she dies. ;_;

Thank you! I'm horribly scared nervous but also looking forward to it. :D I'm hoping to see if I can do a double major since the Medieval and Early Modern History course quite interests me too; you don't have to make the final decision until second year, so I'll be taking the modules in the first year and will see if I can cope with it. :D

Well, I don't know how that's handled in Australia now, but here, at least back in 1993 (and before that) anyone was free to just walk into an auditorium and listen to any lecture they liked. You didn't even have to be qualified to be a student in the first place, or register, as long as you only wanted to hear the information and didn't need a grade for it. It didn't extend to seminars or exercises, though, but if you find you can't handle the workload, but are still curious maybe you can do something like that.

That's awesome! Well, I can ask, I guess. :D Though I think it should be fine if you're a student. A friend in Singapore's NUS said her friends often crash her lectures when bored and the lecturers don't mind as long as they behave. (Non-students aren't technically allowed in lectures, but I sneaked into a WWI lecture once. >_>) But yeah, I could do that too. :D
