Fic: Bubastis, 1400 BC
For _silverfox, who chose the prompt ‘Cat’ on my writing meme. This is a loose prequel to the Triangle prompt fill, where I wrote about the Plagues of Egypt. Since tomorrow (Oct 31st) is, in addition to being Samhain/Halloween, also one of Bast's feast days (although she shares this one with Sekhmet and Ra) I thought this was a fitting time to post this. :D

Loved this! As always, your descriptions are great, and I like how
you talked about the temple cats. I could picture them so easily, haha. *shameless cat person* The dance as well, I could totally imagine the firelight and Bast trying to get Gabriel to dance. And yeeeeeah, she should've plied him with more wine! *grin*
It was very nice to see Bast in all her awesomeness, and I enjoyed getting a peek at Gabriel's softer side as well. ;3
Also, your way of describing Gabriel feeling the revelers' belief for Bast was perfect. *claps* 8D

Aw, thank you! <3 They're mostly based on cats I've known. :D She could have tried, but Gabriel keeps a very strict eye on himself, and has already consumed as much wine as he will allow himself. Bast thinks it's a pity that his Father does not allow them to enjoy themselves but she respects that.
Aww. :D Thanks. I love their friendship. He's also friends with three of the other gods, Thoth, Seshat and Ma'at; I need to write more. XD
