It gave me trouble writing it, that's why it's so late, too, and I had to rearrange the different parts several times, but in the end it worked for me. I'm glad to see it did for you, too.

Well, Sirius knew that all along, or it had been dawning on him for a while, but I think it came as quite the surprise to his Head of House, poor woman. *g*

An excellent Sirius and McGonagall. It's an interesting thought that McGonagall might have put the idea of running away into Sirius's head. I hadn't really considered Sirius's Career's Advice, given that he had the entire Black heritage to step into.

I went with the idea that receiving career's advice is mandatory for every student, so that even if they have the job of the family patriarch lined up for them, they'd have to sit there.

Mmmm, same here. I have never thought about Career's Advice for Sirius before, but since I read your fiction it strikes me as a rather dark chapter in his life... and I can completely relate to what you've written. I can utterly imagine Sirius to want to work and not just living off his family's heritage... seems a lot like him, since he himself feels that the thing with his family won't work out for long anymore. Good job :). And I really liked McGonagall's reaction to it.

It certainly is one of the indications of the darker chapters, as it's really all going down from there, seeming to pick up with his leaving home, but that doesn't really do the trick in the end. :)
