Fic: "Sirius Black and the Case of the Missing Dirigible Plums" + bonus birthday fic
Ooh, I've been looking forward to this day! I've got two things to share. First, something I wrote just for this day, as a birthday gift for a friend who happens to share her birthday with Sirius:
Title: Sirius Black and the Case of the Missing Dirigible Plums

Summary: There’s a mystery afoot in Gryffindor Tower, and Sirius is going to get to the bottom of it: Who stole the dirigible plums?

Notes: I wrote this as a birthday fic for shimotsuki - who shares a birthday with none other than Sirius! So it's a fun, silly Sirius-centric "mystery" story with nothing Darker at stake than a box of dirigible plums and a sunny day by the shores of the Hogwarts lake. Characters belong to J.K. Rowling; plot elements zanily lifted from “Talboys” by Dorothy L. Sayers.

Secondly, I don't know if it's okay to share older works that weren't created specifically for today, but this is about Sirius' birthday, so I can't help but share it... This is an early fic of mine, written long before we knew the date of Sirius' birthday, about what it might be like for him to celebrate his 17th:

"I mean no one except us, and we're the only ones who matter," Sirius replied impatiently.
Warnings: a little wistfulness for families lost, counteracted by friends gained
Notes: I wrote this ages ago, so it doesn't quite align with when we now know Sirius' birthday is. Let's pretend there's a school holiday in November!
