There are aspects of his own nature that man cannot know without the revelation of God.
breaking the "cycle of hate" is a spiritual and religious action. I submit that man is entirely incapable of ending "the cycle of hate" or "the cycle of violence" on his own.
Gahndi said, "be the peace you wish to see in the world." okay, fine. But without God's grace, man cannot have peace within himself, and therefore man cannot give what he does not have.
A brilliant theologian by the name of Rene Girard looks at how Christ, the only truly innocent victim, has broken definitely the cycle of violence through his act of self-sacrifice.
