if we made contact with an intelligent alien species right now they would take one look at us and cart us off to cosmic rehab. we are a mess. its not that there are no aliens, its just none of them want to hang out with us cause we're such a bunch of crazies.

While I'm pretty sure I agree with this, who's to say their civilization isn't as messed up, or ever worse than ours, just at a more technologically advanced level?

That said, I heard something when I was a very young girl, and I believe it still: If aliens have the technology to fly around the universe and all those other things they would have to be able to do to visit us, would they not have the technology to successfully disguise themselves as one of us, and live among us without anyone knowing their true identity?
