Another night, another boring shift running errands for the guards with more seniority than him simply because they didn't think someone his age or size could be any use despite him showing off in the interview that he could mentally shove two of them against a wall with little more effort than it took to swat flies. Nagi wanted to crush their skulls to move up the ranks faster, but he had the feeling that murder wasn't an approved business tactic in the low ranks, no matter how good at it he was.

He scowled at the sidewalk and walked back towards Afterglow with a piece of paper full of names and headcounts in his pocket. Once someone he vaguely remembered seeing on his NV drew a little too close for comfort, he used his power to shove the man away just hard enough to get his attention. "Watch where you're going."

Kenpachi was too busy seething to really notice the other people on the sidewalk with him. Until he felt an invisible hand try to move him aside and a young man spoke to him.

Did he just fucking push him? He hadn't even touched him, but he'd felt the faint pressure. So not only did he fucking push him, he did it with some other-world version of kidou bullshit.

"Watch where I'm going?" Kenpachi stood directly in front of the young man, peered down from his full height and smirked. The kid didn't look worth the trouble of trying to pick a fight with, but he was already pissed off enough to make an exception. "Wanna make me?"

Using his power came as easily to Nagi as breathing and he had about the same level of control over it as over his lungs unless he got pushed far enough that it slipped or shattered, destroying things as a result. He let a flicker of control come loose, enough to rattle a nearby lightpost, and looked up at the eyepatched man.

"I could set you on the roof, but you wouldn't be able to get back down afterwards."

This kid was so tiny. If he had to guess, barely taller than Jubilee. Kenpachi felt the overwhelming urge to laugh in his face.

Still, a threat was a threat, and he wasn't ready to back down yet. "Eh, I think I could get down just fine. But you wouldn't want to be around when I landed." He reached down to poke at the kid's shoulder. See if he liked being shoved.
