[He nearly snorts--but composes himself as quickly as he can, determined to keep up this banter.]

Oh. So they're boring.

literal sore point. perhaps many sore points...

You could say that, but it would be more precisely phrased as 'have a solid sense of routine.' Not that someone like yourself would know anything about that.

No, sorry--no, this is still coming out as boring to me. You always want to have at least one other person present, if only as a witness.

Yeah, that sounds about right!

[dancing_pierrot]

[She's silent for several moments, as though contemplating this observation even though she's already thought of a response.]

You know, if you're offering yourself as a companion, you might as wel just come out and say so.

[He grins, finally, and shoves his hands in his pockets with a shrug.]

Thanks, I'd love to. Was that an invitation?

[dancing_pierrot]

[She glances askance before looking back at him, almost smirking.]

It can be.

[atrumcanis]

[He takes a step closer, sensing a potential success.]

Yeah? And what can we do to make that a definite?

[dancing_pierrot]

[She matches that step, moving towards him as well.]

Why, make it more appealing than any of my other alternative options, of course.

[atrumcanis]

What, the offer itself isn't appealing enough? I'm offering rescue. Rescue, and a drink--several drinks, actually--and myself. That's a good offer.

[dancing_pierrot]

[She nods.] It is. [And she means that, because with every passing moment, the more tempting the idea of getting out is.]

But is it the best?

[atrumcanis]

[He gestures at large to the party around them.]

You tell me. D'you really think this is going to yield better company? More interesting company?

[dancing_pierrot]

[Not really, but she wasn't going to give in that easily.]

I'm open to the possibility.

[atrumcanis]

[He lets his eyebrows raise just a bit higher--they've nearly disappeared into his hairline by now--and he takes another step toward her. They're quite close now, certainly close enough that he can take her by the wrist, with a gentle tug to pull her even nearer still.]

I think I'd rather eliminate all other possibilities.

[dancing_pierrot]

[She doesn't break away from that grip, although she does try to resist that pull.]

Then it's as a I said; simply make yours so appealing that all other potential possibilities would pale in comparison.
