The Joker folded his hands together and smirked down at the plate of lobster on the old table before him, his eyes gleaming in the light.

"Stroker, you sure know how to treat a fella," he purred, and gestured absently towards the butter. "Do pass the butter would you?"

His mind was elsewhere. His mind was in the streets. Someone was going to come. If not Batman, then Re-l. He hoped for Re-l. It was not time to see old Long-Ears yet. Soon, though, soon... He'd left the light on in hopes that someone would notice his presence.

The opening and closing of the balcony window would have been missed if he hadn't already been listening for it. When Re-l stepped out, his gaze was already fixed on her, and he smiled.

If he'd known who this apartment belonged to, he might have thought twice about doing this here -- or maybe even doing this in the first place. The Clown could be persistent when he wanted, though, and after much pestering, he finally agreed. The deal was simple; he'd provide the dinner so long as Joker provided the place. Granted, this was still the Joker so he knew better than to come unprepared. (Eating in uniform wasn't so inconvenient.) Even so, he wasn't actually anticipating too much trouble.

A wry twist to his mouth, he passed the butter. "I'm a man of my word."

Noticing the sound as well, he tilted his head in the direction of the balcony. Somehow, he managed not to look to surprised.

She should have been prepared for it to be Joker. Who else would know where the place was and how to break in without people noticing? She had been hoping it wouldn't have been him and maybe it would have just been a couple of squatters or robbers.

Her luck isn't that good, unfortunately.

Still, she didn't expect Slade Wilson to be there either, and definitely not looking like he was enjoying himself with... What were they eating, lobster?

She scowled, drawing closer. It might have been a bad idea, but she wasn't in the mood to deal with this sort of bullshit.

"What the hell are you doing here, Joker? And what is all of this?"

She was so funny when upset. Really, her scowl was one of the best he'd seen. Probably would have been the best if he hadn't known the Bat.

"We're eating lobster. My God, woman, use your eyes!"

He tugged an eyelid open and frowned at her like a disappointed math professor. Math. There was a dreary subject. For a moment his mind wandered as he considered the concept of division by zero. It was three quiet seconds later that he he dropped his hand again.'

"Come, come, have a seat."
