Who: vestalvogue, regeneratesalot, and Mr. Muggles! When: 1/9/2012 sometime after noon Where: Out in the streets somewhere Summary: Mr. Muggles really likes harassing people. Really, really likes it. Warnings: None?
Kanaya was not intimately familiar with the explicit idea of pets. Of course she had had her lusus, and if anyone had attempted to assault either of them or their hive her guardian would have defended her, but it was not the same thing.
Her first instinct on seeing the dog was that she was possibly being attacked. By a small creature, admittedly, but that did not make it any less dangerous, or her any less prepared. The chainsaw was in her hand, her fingers ready to rev the thing up, clearly thinking about it as he closed on on her and she waited to see if it really meant to come at her.

"Whoa!" Claire upped her pace, panic in her eyes. "Mr. Muggles!" She willed him with her non-existent mind powers to stop and turn around. That didn't work, obviously. He was too excited! He did stop, though, when he saw the chainsaw in her hands. Was it a toy for him?
She caught up with him, nearly slamming into Kanaya in the process, eyes on the chainsaw. "That's one way to protect yourself in the city."
GIRL'S GOTTA BE SAFEvestalvogueJanuary 20 2012, 02:00:29 UTC
The chainsaw didn't exactly go away, but it was hard to be overly threatened by the girl when she was nearly falling into Kanaya. There was an obvious difference between an attack, and a frantic movement. She was just still wary. That barkbeast had teeth. Maybe it was poisonous.
"It was implied that protection could be necessary," she said, like it was no big deal. Even if nobody had implied such a thing in the form of listing dangerous monsters, Kanaya still would have carried it. Old habits die hard, and trolls are always prepared if they want to live.
"It is, but mostly at night." She eyed Kanaya warily, making sure to keep a tight hold on Mr. Muggles in case he decided to break loose again. She had a strange appearance, definitely, but she didn't look ... too dangerous. Not counting that chainsaw, anyway.
"And definitely not against dogs, for future reference." Hell-hounds maybe but not Pomeranians.
