[When it starts getting dark, Axel starts wondering where Mary is. Sure, she's a competent woman with her head on straight, so far as he can tell, but this isn't exactly the kind of place anybody really wants to be caught alone after nightfall. When the sirens have screamed and the last striations of sunset fade, Axel finds himself staring at the door.

[Where is she? He hopes she hasn't gone and done something stupid; she really did seem in a bad way. He supposes that's perfectly reasonable, given what happened, but he's found that hasty decisions made when you're in pain often lead to unpleasant destinations ( ... )

No.

[For once, a Winchester is choosing the sober option. Praise the lord and pass the tax rebate. Mary makes a motion as if to take off a jacket before realizing she isn't wearing one, then fiddles with a strap of her tank top fitfully.]

You don't drink when you're compromised going into a fight, even for training. My father would roll in his grave.

[He holds up his hands in a 'don't shoot' sort of gesture.] Easy, I was just trying to inject a little levity. Are you okay? [He shakes his head.] Did you forget to wear a coat or was it a casualty of... whatever happened on the way here?

[Maybe next time he would offer to go pick her up...]

I know, I'm sorry. I've been so frazzled...

[She takes a deep breath and shakes her head and almost misses his question. When it gets through, though, she gives him a vaguely confused look before remembering that oh yeah, it's December, isn't it? Coats are normal.]

No. For some reason, the cold doesn't bother me anymore.
