Who: Helen Magnus & Francis Bonnefoy When: December 9 Where: Helen's apartment Summary: Francis hears that Helen's broken her wrist and decides to bring food. Or cook. Or both. Warnings: A lovely friendship
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Outside the door there stood Francis, standing there with several sacks of groceries, all bundled up in a trendy wool coat, mittens, and a scarf. After not hearing anything after about ten seconds, Francis knocked again, calling out this time, "Hélène, it is Francis! I am here!" He had promised to her previously, once he had learned how she broke her wrist, to help her at least eat. It was not healthy to skip meals, after all.
Part of her hadn't quite expected him to come, although given his persistence she should have known. She'd tried to stop him - as grateful for his offer that she was she hadn't wanted to put him out in doing so - she didn't take easily to people looking after her, even if he was a friend.
She nudged Ashley from her lap at the knocking, urging her when the young cat didn't seem to want to move, and made her way to the door. She was surprised at the amount that he had with her - when he'd offered to cook she hadn't though it would be so much or anything so elaborate. Oh, Francis.
"Good day." She gave him a smile, pulling the door back so that he - and everything he had - could come in.
He seemed quite pleased when she did open the door after all. "Bonjour!" He leaned in and gave her a quick greeting kiss. "Ah, may I come in?" When she stepped aside he gave her another smile, stepping inside and immediately taking his bags toward the kitchen to set them on the counters. Then he called to her, "I did not know if you had flour or milk or such things, alors, I brought some just in case."
Francis began taking this out of bags, one by one, putting them where he could find them for later - and then he came to the final sack, which contained nothing but lots of fruit. "Ah! I also brought some apples and bananas and such, so you will have something healthy to snack on while your wrist is healing."
She closed the door behind him, quick enough before Ashley could attempt to dart out - she had to watch her more closely the older that she got. When seeing her exit blocked Ashley instead followed Francis. Don't mind if you have something butting at your ankles.
"You appear to have thought of everything." And although she wasn't going to make mention of it Helen was rather thankful of the milk - she'd been planning on going out the next day to buy some. And don't mind her trying to help (one-handedly, of course) by putting a few things away.
