Who: truemastery, rainprism, todomarishi, feverpitching When: Backdated to November 15th Where: The House of Departure Summary: An unconventional family is reunited. Warnings: None.
[He calls up the stairs to the second floor in case his friend is in his own room then hurries off to straighten up the house a little more. Aqua's arrival encouraged Terra to clean up some, but thinking of his Master, his teacher, his father, all he can see are the things that still need doing.]
[He shouts back... while grumbling inwardly about the dishes he forgot to put away the night before. Time to shove them into the cabinets and hope nothing breaks.]
[Terra waits with Ven by a window near the front door. He shifts his weight from one foot to the other as he stares out the glass. He can feel his heart pounding against his ribs and it seems almost silly... Embarrassing or shameful, to be so anxious when he's already been through this once before. After all, he's known for many months that just about anyone can show up in this world. Show up in or return to.
The minutes tick by and then... Too suddenly, there they are. Terra wills himself to be calm when he spots his Master and friend walking toward the house.
This is it. This will be okay.
As they draw closer, Terra reaches out to the side and rests his hand on Ven's shoulder.]
[After their home is carefully distinguished and pointed out to her Master, Aqua has allowed Eraqus to assume the lead -- if he so chooses. It's been a decidedly quiet walk, completely and utterly saturated with the shame of her humiliating emotional display.
She can count on one hand the number of times that any of them -- Master Eraqus, Ventus, or Terra -- have seen her in tears ... and her displeasure with herself is visible in every one of her movements and gestures.
Dwelling on it now, of all times, would be selfish. Her body language may betray her, but her control over her voice is absolute... and her face is a carefully constructed blank slate. Terra and Ven have a lot of catching up to do... and she can't even begin to imagine how either of them must feel.
And, of course, when the time comes, she'll unlock and open the front door, giving the immediate interior a hasty once-over (one indecipherable look directed at Terra coming right up) before holding that door open and gesturing humbly for her Master to come inside....
