Marluxia huddled further into his sweatshirt, trying to fight the chill. He knew he should have dressed more warmly, but he didn't have a winter coat yet, and he didn't want to wear the Organization coat while he was out here on patrol. It tended to cause disquiet among others, and in a potentially hostile situation, he wanted the confused Newcomers to not see him as a threat ( ... )

Snapped from her puzzling by the approach of a stranger, she hurriedly put the charm away and stood up straight, feigning the alertness that the massive collision with this world had robbed her of. The stranger's approach seemed to have come out of nowhere, though she knew how ridiculous that thought was. She'd just been so wrapped up in her thoughts that...

Everything is going to be all right, if you let it.

Whatever could he mean by that...?

For a moment, she said nothing, studying him openly in silence. She couldn't put her finger on it... but something about him was just... a little off. But he was being genial and she was being rather rude. Releasing a bit of the tension in her stance, a cautious, apologetic smile crept across her face.

"Are you... from around here, sir?"

Marluxia nodded slightly, offering her a sort of placating smile. So she hadn't attacked him yet, that was good. He had startled her, after all.

"Yes, though I have only arrived here a few short months ago myself, in much the same way you did."

He stopped, keeping at least two arm-lengths away. He knew better than to hover, even though he was quite interested in the stranger.

"I know this is quite a bit to take in. You have been drawn here, to this island and town, called Siren's Port."

He watched her carefully for signs of distress, for panic as everything about the Pull finally made some sort of horrible sense. It had taken longer for that panic, the reality of the situation to set in, but he should be prepared for anything, anyway.

What followed... was a heavy, lingering silence. There is no trace of shock in her reaction, but there is a weighty exhale as her gaze slowly sinks down to the ground between the two of them.

Being drawn in -- that was something she had suspected from the start. This was a horrendous far-cry from her destination, much less the beaten path of the Lanes Between. The phenomenon was not necessarily unheard of -- the constitution of certain worlds, the nature of certain ... charms ... and she was, as far as she knew, properly equipped to handle that situation.

The unsettling part of this news was the fact that ... a supposed native of the new world seemed to be aware of it.

One.

His morning had been uneventful. He'd woken with his alarm, gotten in a little training, and gone out for a run after the early siren sounded. He'd hung around with Ven and, together, they'd continued the seemingly-endless battle that was working on their new house. The following afternoon had also been relatively ordinary. One of the clubs had canceled their classes for the day, and so, not needed to assist with those lessons, he'd only stayed for a couple of hours. He'd stopped on his way back to pick up a few groceries. He'd made dinner - which was to say he'd heated up frozen dinner boxes because it was Thursday and his mind was preoccupied with thoughts of the night ahead, a night he would spend fighting the monsters out in the Darkness.

Dinner had been kind of quiet, but that wasn't so unusual for Thursdays, either. They'd had pie afterward, a treat purchased to go with their ice cream (ice cream always came first), and then they'd settled in for what would likely be an average evening.

"Aqua, being a powerful Keyblade Master who serves the light with all her heart, left the city again to attend to her duties."

He still wanted Ven and everyone else in the city to believe that, even if almost two months later, his own heart remained unconvinced. His hands, wielding another's dark Keyblade, had caused her terrible harm. She'd tried to hide that pain from him, but he had seen it, had watched her struggle, through the memory Xehanort left behind of the crime itself and in person every passing day. Then, a while after it had happened, she'd vanished. No trace of her had been left behind.

Five.

He let out a slow breath.

Aqua.

He had to pull himself together. He had Ven and his new friends. And Aslan. Sitting up again, he pushed back the lingering uncertainty. Concentrate already.Instead, Terra found himself staring down at the Wayfinder in his hand, entranced by the glow that glimmered and pulsed around it ( ... )

That thought kept him from grabbing his own NV. He couldn't call Ven just yet: there were a few things he needed to find out first, a few questions desperately needing answers.

Taking a step forward, he vanished from his side of the fence and reappeared in the overgrown field with only a dim smattering of light betraying which element he'd used to teleport over.

"Aqua!" He dismissed his Keyblade with a loose gesture of his hand as he started in her direction but kept his full armor on.

Aqua. You're here. You're back.

The NV's screen, still the object of a positively glacial stare coming from its technologically inept owner, had darkened from the inactivity following the end of the call... before she finally felt enough satisfaction to put it away. Whether that man had been truthful or not -- and she was cautiously confident that he hadn't -- she was on her own from that point on in her search. What certainly held the possibility to be a very difficult search...

She was scarcely even aware of what Marluxia had said, so lost was she in the wake of an emotional outburst that she definitely hadn't been prepared for. An emotional outburst that, thankfully, hadn't been pointed directly at him. So shaken... that the Wayfinder's intensifying glow in her sash also went unnoticed. There was no sense in turning on that man's underling, and she certainly couldn't do so out of anger. Whatever had just happened to her, it was over and done with. After sparing the briefest moment to recompose herself, she peered over to where the rose-haired gentleman was ( ... )
