Everything is going to be all right, if you let it.
Whatever could he mean by that...?
For a moment, she said nothing, studying him openly in silence. She couldn't put her finger on it... but something about him was just... a little off. But he was being genial and she was being rather rude. Releasing a bit of the tension in her stance, a cautious, apologetic smile crept across her face.
"Are you... from around here, sir?"

"Yes, though I have only arrived here a few short months ago myself, in much the same way you did."
He stopped, keeping at least two arm-lengths away. He knew better than to hover, even though he was quite interested in the stranger.
"I know this is quite a bit to take in. You have been drawn here, to this island and town, called Siren's Port."
He watched her carefully for signs of distress, for panic as everything about the Pull finally made some sort of horrible sense. It had taken longer for that panic, the reality of the situation to set in, but he should be prepared for anything, anyway.

Being drawn in -- that was something she had suspected from the start. This was a horrendous far-cry from her destination, much less the beaten path of the Lanes Between. The phenomenon was not necessarily unheard of -- the constitution of certain worlds, the nature of certain ... charms ... and she was, as far as she knew, properly equipped to handle that situation.
The unsettling part of this news was the fact that ... a supposed native of the new world seemed to be aware of it.

His morning had been uneventful. He'd woken with his alarm, gotten in a little training, and gone out for a run after the early siren sounded. He'd hung around with Ven and, together, they'd continued the seemingly-endless battle that was working on their new house. The following afternoon had also been relatively ordinary. One of the clubs had canceled their classes for the day, and so, not needed to assist with those lessons, he'd only stayed for a couple of hours. He'd stopped on his way back to pick up a few groceries. He'd made dinner - which was to say he'd heated up frozen dinner boxes because it was Thursday and his mind was preoccupied with thoughts of the night ahead, a night he would spend fighting the monsters out in the Darkness.
Dinner had been kind of quiet, but that wasn't so unusual for Thursdays, either. They'd had pie afterward, a treat purchased to go with their ice cream (ice cream always came first), and then they'd settled in for what would likely be an average evening.

He still wanted Ven and everyone else in the city to believe that, even if almost two months later, his own heart remained unconvinced. His hands, wielding another's dark Keyblade, had caused her terrible harm. She'd tried to hide that pain from him, but he had seen it, had watched her struggle, through the memory Xehanort left behind of the crime itself and in person every passing day. Then, a while after it had happened, she'd vanished. No trace of her had been left behind.
Five.
He let out a slow breath.
Aqua.
He had to pull himself together. He had Ven and his new friends. And Aslan. Sitting up again, he pushed back the lingering uncertainty. Concentrate already.Instead, Terra found himself staring down at the Wayfinder in his hand, entranced by the glow that glimmered and pulsed around it ( ... )

Taking a step forward, he vanished from his side of the fence and reappeared in the overgrown field with only a dim smattering of light betraying which element he'd used to teleport over.
"Aqua!" He dismissed his Keyblade with a loose gesture of his hand as he started in her direction but kept his full armor on.
Aqua. You're here. You're back.

She was scarcely even aware of what Marluxia had said, so lost was she in the wake of an emotional outburst that she definitely hadn't been prepared for. An emotional outburst that, thankfully, hadn't been pointed directly at him. So shaken... that the Wayfinder's intensifying glow in her sash also went unnoticed. There was no sense in turning on that man's underling, and she certainly couldn't do so out of anger. Whatever had just happened to her, it was over and done with. After sparing the briefest moment to recompose herself, she peered over to where the rose-haired gentleman was ( ... )
