Yosuke had been eagerly awaiting the visit, actually. The truth was, having an apartment to yourself was actually kind of lonely. So as soon as he heard the knock, he sprang up from the breakfast table (tea and some eggs he hadn't been interested in anyway, considering they were about all he knew how to cook) and bolted for the door.

When he got there, he smoothed his hair and shirt down and tried not to look too eager when he pulled it open. But he couldn't hold back a smile when he saw the girl standing outside, just like promised. "Hi. I guess you found it alright. Please come inside."

He cast a guilty glance at the still empty box by the door. Maybe he'd luck out, and girls from Pern didn't expect to be given slippers.

This girl from Pern doesn't appear familiar with the custom, anyway; Menolly follows your glance to the box, and looks quizzically at you. "I lived in these apartments for a month, too," she points out with a smile. "Thank you for inviting me."

(The bruise on her upper cheek is discolored but not swollen.)

"It's no problem." Yosuke closes the door. Should he offer her something? That's usually his mom's job. It's hard to decide. Instead he just pulls a chair out for her at the table. "Let me see it under the light. I haven't really practiced this in a while. But I know it's going to work, because of something a friend told me."
