[She really shouldn't be here, she knows. This week has been long and tiring, and the last thing she really should be doing is going to a big party like this. But, truth be told, she knows she'll feel better if she gets out and socializes, if she just continues to life. Wallowing in pity and grief won't do anything for her. She just has to do her best to have a good time tonight.

She's a little sad that Lucifer isn't here. She would have enjoyed his company tonight. It was only a year ago that he invited her to the Lux he first had, and she's sure he'd have a pearl of wisdom or two for her now that Edgeworth's gone. She'll just have to go without the Devil this time.

She's wearing a simple dress, her hair is tied back, and she has an intricately woven mask to top it all off. And the costume part? She has her black wings out, pressed against her back to keep people from bumping into them, but they can easily pass for interesting accessories. No one has to know they're real. She doubts anyone will suspect, anyway, unless they know her ( ... )

[ Larry will just walk over to Re-l, tentatively raising his hat in greeting and bowing. He smiles, but it's obviously a watered-down smile, far less than he would normally give on a night like this, especially during a party.]

You look great, Re-l.

[The compliment is just that - a compliment.]

[She's surprised to see him look so good in that suit. And he's even wearing a cravat. She pauses, unsure of what to say, but then she gives him a similarly faint smile.]

Thanks. So do you. That suit looks good on you.

Really? Thanks.

[His smile widens a bit, and he lets out a little chuckle. His eyes flick downward toward his cravat for a short moment; was it still okay? Did it come undone or something?]

Took me ages to pick out something to wear, actually.

Really?

[It looks good on him. She gives him a look of appraisal and grabs a drink from a passing waitress to pass off to him.]

Isn't it a little stuffy? I've never seen you wear something like that.

[Larry takes the drink and gives her a smile and a nod of thanks. Hopefully it's not alcoholic; it doesn't look to be that way.]

It took some getting used to, but it's okay. And Franzy even helped me with the cravat.

Did she? No wonder it looks perfect.

[She smiles. Edgeworth would be proud of how well he looks.]

Yeah, she wouldn't stop till I got it right.

[Larry hopes so, really. He has worn bow ties and neckties and even tried an ascot a few times, but never a cravat.]

[She chuckles.]

It makes you look very dignified.

[A pause.]

How have you been?

[Larry really appreciates that compliment, in all honesty.]

Me? I'm okay...I just had one heck of a week, that's all...

[She nods, giving him a sympathetic look. She touches his arm gently.]

I know. I'm really sorry.

[In return, he pats her shoulder in concern and understanding. Though she didn't show it, it was probably hard on her too. Perhaps, Larry thought, even harder.]

It's not your fault. I'm sorry too, Re-l.

[She nods.]

It's fine, really. It'll just take some getting used to.

You're doing okay?
