"It's a relief to go shopping for something other than business attire and weaponry," Emma agreed, stepping inside and moving to let the other woman enter. They both blinked to allow their eyes to adjust to the light.

"May I help you, madam?" the clerk inquired, ignoring Jubilee and attempting to look down her nose at Emma.

Emma looked back at her with an amused curve to her lips. "I'm looking for a corset, overbust, white coated spring steel boning, white or offwhite silk fabric. I can give measurements, but I'm sure it'll have to be custom made -- I wanted to see examples of your patterns."

As she ignored the clerk raking eyes down her figure, she turned to Jubilee and said conversationally, "I have been missing corsets."

[Emma also drinks wine, usually, though there are some dishes that just go best with beer. But as long as there's something she likes to drink about - and any students of hers can at least fake being cultured - she doesn't really care what other people drink.]

"The only problem with you and Michael and beer," Emma says with amusement, "is that the primary English word for beer is also the most generic. If they labelled his beer porters and your beer lagers, it would give the two of you fewer excuses for cathartic arguments.

"I've heard about Edgeworth. I do want to know how many times the Sentinel project has to be taken over by someone or some group who uses it to slaughter mutants instead of apprehend mutant criminals before mutants are entitled to simply regard it as an intrinsic enemy and treat it accordingly. If the answer is infinite, I know to conduct future arguments with him for the entertainment of the bystanders."
