After spending most of the night and day with Peter, Mercy had had to come home and clean up. Add in that she'd almost forgotten about the dinner with Elaine and Harry, and she'd been a little rushed.

She was still barefoot, and trying to herd cats. Literally. Medea and Aphrodite seemed particularly interested in twining around her ankles today. She was about to lock them in her room. Mei, at least, had settled onto his bed in the corner and was watching in canine amusement.

"You could help, you know."

Mei's ears pricked forward, but he didn't move. Typical.

Sighing, she wiped her hands off and headed for the door. "Medea!" She huffed out a sigh. She scooped up her cat, only because it was faster.

"Hi." She opened the door. "Come on in and welcome to the zoo." She said dryly. She put Medea on the floor. "Dinner's not quite ready, so come on in and make yourselves comfortable."

"Why would I be worried? There's nothing to gang up on me about. You both adore me. I'll be fine," he said, giving her a smile.

When Mercy opened the door, Harry grinned down at her, glad to see his friend. He'd been so busy with work lately, that he hadn't had much time for, well, much of anything.

Before he could reply to her, Mouse pushed him aside and gave a happy bark, pushing his head against Mercy's hip.

"And it looks like you have one more animal to exhibit," Harry said, handing her a bottle of wine they'd brought.

There was more than one way for girls to gang up on a man, even one they adored. Maybe especially one they adored. But Elaine just smiled, as greetings were exchanged and they went inside. It was very nice indeed to have a night off work, and to be able to spend it together, with friends.

"Do you need a hand with anything, Mercy?"

Medea wiggled and jumped down, landing on Mouse's back. Mercy just rolled her eyes. Apparently, she wasn't the proper conveyance any longer, not with Mouse here. "Hello, Mouse." She ruffled his ears with a smile. She liked the big dog.

"No thanks, Elaine. Just herding cats." She slid a glance at Medea who was purring loudly. "Literally. And Mei's not helping." she waved toward where the smaller puppy was in his bed and had started bathing Aphrodite. He looked up at his name, his ears pricked forward before going back to his very important duty.

Mercy shook her head and took the wine. "How about I open this and get us all a drink? Make yourselves at home."
