[ Clark didn't actually end up buying his tickets. He squeezed one out of his boss in exchange for a promise of an article on his desk by the evening issue. It wasn't like he couldn't afford one - not really - but what was the point of a job without taking advantage of the perks?

The sports here excited him, actually. Powers weren't prohibited, as far as he knew, and when he'd arrived there had been a childish thrill in his heart that had told him that if he wanted he could have a job in sport rather than journalism--be the football hero he hadn't been able to be in Metropolis or Smallville because he couldn't trust his powers. They would have been allowed here. But then he'd have also have been giving himself away. So too bad, Clark ( ... )

[Jason isn't super dressed up either, but he does have some clean jeans and a t-shirt on with a hoodie loosely covering his shoulders. And, while he's not thrilled to see Clark, it is good to see him. He doesn't deeply hate the older man, not even slightly hate, but there's no need to let him know that, right?

The question makes the vigilante shrug as he answers cooly:] If you call Carrie a date.

[Which he doesn't.] The talkshow yesterday offered a pair of tickets.

[ hey o, speak of the devil. Or at least of the Robin. She's appearing more or less suddenly, pretty much right at Jason's elbow, all decked out in a plain gray hoodie and normal-sized only-slightly-green glasses. And, of course, she's looking ridiculously cheerful. How could she not? An outing with her personal hero and, as it turns out, Clark?

Yep. Things are pretty awesome.

Now, onto the most pressing business: ] I heard there's supposed to be popcorn.

[Well don't tempt him. He might. Clark has to hide his grin behind the back of his hand and motions toward the turnstyle.]

Popcorn, hotdogs, waffles. What else do they sell at games? Everything that's bad for you and more, right?

[For the first time it occured to him that just maybe Jason and Carrie hadn't actually done this kind of thing before. He wondered, too, what Jason was doing listening to a morning radio show--did the police scanners get too dull?]
