This is the point that we shed light on why the painter is missing. It's because he's taking a nice little nap in the back of the theatre, in an area where old props and crates were stacked up, pushed here and there. Old huge rolled up backdrops leaned lined up on a wall, old costumes stock piled and the folded up ripped curtains piled in a corner. They made for a great bed space, out of the way, easy to reach and rather comfy if not a bit dusty. He never minded a bit of dust though.
It's not like he was slacking though. The paint needed to dry before he could do more with it and everything else was taken care of. So, yes, he was silently napping in an out of the way corner ( ... )

"I feel like we should have a torch," she mused as Lace led her away from the higher-traffic areas, who stopped occasionally to raise her head and sniff the air. Gert kept her hand on the dinosaur's flank, not wanting her to get ahead.
They came into a larger storage room, where props, costumes, and backdrops had been shoved into most available spaces. Gert took a look around the room, marveling at the sheer amount of stuff in there. Combined with how out-of-the-way the room was, it was no wonder the 'missing' artist had gone through here, if he wasn't still in the room. She continued looking as Lace moved forward, sniffing out a path to what looked like a makeshift bed... where she stopped, snorting at what appeared to be nothing.

A torch light could be useful, as well as set a really good feel to the back of this theatre. Or... just set it all on fire and make room for more clutter. Claudio however wouldn't have noticed the light, nor did he hear anyone coming up to him.
He took only mild notice to the fact that something snorted into the space he was sleeping in. This made him blink, eyes opening to a rather alarmingly close creature. Still invisible he let out a short yelp, the bedding shifting under him. He was invisible but solid at the moment.
"Holyshit! Gret! Scare the hell outta me, why don't ya?" He stated clearly, still surprised but still not visible.
