In fact, he'd been so excited that he'd shown up an hour and a half early.
Now he was sitting in the theater, contentedly munching on a bag of popcorn, his boot heels carefully propped up on the seat in front of him so that he wouldn't gouge the fabric with his spurs. He had kindly taken his hat off for anyone that happened to be sitting behind him (though considering the size of the theater, and the number of people that like Westerns, that might have been rather unnecessary).
Come sit by him, bug him, whatever?]

Jake is indeed quite the expert on this sort of thing, mainly because he's been watching such movies with his family since he was, as he would put it, "knee-high to a grasshopper". In fact, this movie is one of his old childhood favorites. He hears the shuffling behind him, mostly the dull thunk of ice against the paper soda cup hooked under his arm. But he doesn't pay it any mind, enjoying his movie, until he hears a voice behind him.]
Howdy, pardner. [He says quietly to prevent the other moviegoers from getting angry, as he turns a bit in his seat to see his new movie-going buddy. This guy seems pleasant enough.] You got a name? [He sticks out his hand, to shake.] Jake Marshall.

So that's why his face stretches into a smile when he spots the older man -- they've only talked a few times before, a few months ago now, but it's still better than a complete stranger.]
Hey, Jake, wasn't it?
[And Tyrell pops his out to the side so that he can see past his plate of pasta.]
Long time no talk!

Well if it ain't Tyrell! By gum, I haven't heard from you in a long while. Go on, sit a spell! [He motions to the chair opposite him, and the empty table space there.]

Did you ever get your phone thingy worked out?
[That's enough waiting for his liking, so he twirls some of the spaghetti on his fork and starts munching right down. SLURRRRP.]
