[Jake had been so excited when he'd read the news on Tuesday. In fact, he could so hardly contain his almost childish excitement for the two days he'd known about this event, that he had been rambling about going to this particular event to all of his friends, coworkers, acquaintances, and practically anyone who happened to bring it up in conversation.

In fact, he'd been so excited that he'd shown up an hour and a half early.

Now he was sitting in the theater, contentedly munching on a bag of popcorn, his boot heels carefully propped up on the seat in front of him so that he wouldn't gouge the fabric with his spurs. He had kindly taken his hat off for anyone that happened to be sitting behind him (though considering the size of the theater, and the number of people that like Westerns, that might have been rather unnecessary).

Come sit by him, bug him, whatever?]

[ Claire had been on a film spree lately and there was no question he’d be up for a night of vendettas, outlaws, and ridiculous fights on the back of moving stagecoaches, and since the plot devices and technology were still innovative to him he was enjoying the films completely unironically. Eventually his attention was drawn to Jake, whose appearance marked him out as the closest thing to an authority on this sort of thing. So he crept along the row behind to lean over the back of the seat next to the Jake's, holding a soda inside the crook of his elbow and grinning like he was about to deliver the wittiest ice breaker in history: ]

Howdy.

[Considering how much like Claire's "Rail-tracer" spree some Westerns are, Jake-mun is not surprised.

Jake is indeed quite the expert on this sort of thing, mainly because he's been watching such movies with his family since he was, as he would put it, "knee-high to a grasshopper". In fact, this movie is one of his old childhood favorites. He hears the shuffling behind him, mostly the dull thunk of ice against the paper soda cup hooked under his arm. But he doesn't pay it any mind, enjoying his movie, until he hears a voice behind him.]

Howdy, pardner. [He says quietly to prevent the other moviegoers from getting angry, as he turns a bit in his seat to see his new movie-going buddy. This guy seems pleasant enough.] You got a name? [He sticks out his hand, to shake.] Jake Marshall.

[ The returned greeting gets a huge grin. He transfers the soda to his other hand and quickly rubs some of the condensation into his jacket sleeve before taking Jake’s hand. ] Claire Stanfield. [ A nod at the movie screen. ] I was half-wonderin' whether you'd turn out to be one of these nameless cowboy types.

[All-you-can-eat Spaghetti? Jake is all up for that :D He's currently in the middle of eating a large plate of spaghetti and meatballs, in the rather crowded restaurant (though more than likely not just by the moviegoers).

Come sit with him/by him?]

[Tyrell's just received his dinner, and he's making his way through the restaurant to find a place to sit, which is a more arduous task than it usually would be, as he can barely see over the spaghetti he's piled onto his plate. There's people everywhere, it seems, and he reckons it'd be pretty weird to just sit right by one of them and be too busy eating to even talk.

So that's why his face stretches into a smile when he spots the older man -- they've only talked a few times before, a few months ago now, but it's still better than a complete stranger.]

Hey, Jake, wasn't it?

[And Tyrell pops his out to the side so that he can see past his plate of pasta.]

Long time no talk!

[Jake looks up when he hears his name called, his mouth still full of spaghetti. He chews and swallows, dabbing his mouth as he sees... an enormous plate of pasta. He's not sure who it is until he sees a mop of deep red hair pop out from the side of the plate.]

Well if it ain't Tyrell! By gum, I haven't heard from you in a long while. Go on, sit a spell! [He motions to the chair opposite him, and the empty table space there.]

[Tyrell eagerly takes the offered chair, glad that he now has somewhere safe to sit. He really just wants to start tucking right in, but -- maybe he should ask something first. Just this once.]

Did you ever get your phone thingy worked out?

[That's enough waiting for his liking, so he twirls some of the spaghetti on his fork and starts munching right down. SLURRRRP.]
