[ William isn't quite so reluctant to revisit their once neat and orderly home. In actuality, he'd already returned here the night after they'd been driven out (he'd fled in his pajamas, and that certainly wasn't appropriate to wear out and about), so the sight would be nothing to surprise him. ]

Alright.

[ He sighs softly and opens the door for Grell. He knew the extent that the seeping darkness, along with the few monsters who'd 'visited' had caused to their living room and kitchen. Hopefully at least a few of their cherished belongings had survived within the confines of their room. ]

[ Swallowing hard, Grell steps inside. The sight is jarring - but about what he'd expected. He's seen devastation before - it's all in a day's work, for a Grim Reaper. Still, it had never been quite so personal.

There's daylight streaming in through the gaping hole in the wall, where the monsters got in. And-- ]

Filthy, dirty pigeons! GAH!

[ With a flurry of startled cooing, several pigeons (they'd been roosting on the sofa) take flight, escaping through the hole. One remains behind, glaring beadily back at Grell. ]

I'll ROAST you!

I've had about enough of winged creatures!

[ William catches Grell by the shoulder before he can attack the harmless, little pigeon. ]

Leave it alone, Grell.

[ Back home, William often used carrier pigeons to send urgent messages. Perhaps, deep down, he held a sincere fondness for the hardworking creatures. He holds a hand out to the bird, who can sense this understanding, and flutters over to perch on William's fingers. ]

We have invaded its home, now.

[ The kittens were different, because they were theirs; but the sight of William being affectionate with a pigeon elicits intense jealousy! ]

You and your birds, you bloody--
