Maybe he'd given too much to Sam, to help him out with. And maybe he'd been using too much, but he didn't think he had. But it was the same with the ARI; he'd been using it too much lately. Too much, too much. Hell, he had it on right now; everyone else thought they were sunglasses, but for the tell-tale blue light coming from it.
Sitting at a cafe, hand bouncing back and forth as he through a virtual ball back and forth against a wall. Waiting for his coffee to come out, along with some food. He almost didn't notice someone pass by, but the ARI caught it no matter what.]
...Mr. Amamiya? [Cautious, because it might not be him today.]

I am Kazuhiko Amamiya. [A quiet confirmation, something he'd done automatically since the moment of his awakening. His first memory of the waking world was occupied by police officers, by accusations, and by desperate attempts to convince the people around him of who he was.] Is there something I can help you with, Officer?

How are you doing?

I'm here. [Awake. And that's something significant to be noted, however strange it sounds.] Contemplating going job hunting, though- [heh] -I'm not sure how well received that will be.

He had a box of dango in one hand, a stick wrested from it in his other, and he only stopped because Kazuhiko...was a familiar face, if not a familiar person. Kimihiko's friend. And he didn't look terribly happy.
When had Naoya ever passed up a potential opportunity?]
...Amamiya. [He remembers the name he'd been told after the man resurfaced--the glasses were consistent with that. Although he could be wrong about it, but he wasn't at all worried about Nishizono Shinji.]

The voice pulls him from his thoughts as his attention scans the crowd to a man who seems to be looking straight at him. Blank faced, he barely seems to acknowledge the man before him until he actually speaks to him.]
Yes? [He faintly remembers this man, though he leaves the contact mostly open.]

[Naoya doesn't need to be good at reading people to see that. For his part, Naoya looked...exhausted. The dark circles under his eyes were a fine contrast to how pale he was, anyway.]

When Kazuhiko wanders past, she almost doesn't see him. She's finishing off some tea and tossing the cup into the trash when she turns and nearly runs right into him.
She stops and stares a moment.]
Hello, Kazuhiko.

Are you alright? [A general question laced with an apology of sorts. The reason for it is settled deep into his stomach, something twisting and familiar, but he can't... quite recall.]
Reply
Yes, I'm fine, don't worry. Are you?
[It's...awkward, even now.] I didn't mean to startle you.

This was almost the first time he had left Sector 11 other than to work, preferring to stay wrapped in the arms of Kadaj or Francis and drown his sorrows in them. He crossed the road without waiting for anyone to intervene, leaping easily over the solitary car that would have hit him to walk over to him.]
Kazuhiko Amamiya. Long time no see.

Liquid Snake. [And a beat. He knows Yaha was a friend of Liquid's. And the loss is probably what's offsetting the man's mood.] I'm sorry for your loss...

Thank you. [His voice is almost hesitant.] How are you holding up?

Focusing on the traffic lights, he forced them to change so he could cross the road and stepped onto the other side without caring if anyone crashed. Luckily, they did not and the lights switched back to normal as he released them. It was finally becoming possible to hold it and move at the same time. Extremely difficult, but possible.
He had to lean against a wall to recover his energy, finding it coming easier now. Even with just the little magic he had learnt, it had helped with this as well. That type of control was useful for the technopathy too. He almost didn't notice Kazuhiko. Almost. And at first, he pretended not to, if only to see what he was doing.]

A friend of Shinji's leaves a bad taste in the lighter personality's mouth, and so he doesn't approach at first. He's content to continuing his walk, doing his best to leave Kimihiko unaware that he had been seen. No eye contact, rather staring through the man and the crowd alike. A part of him wants to see if Kimihiko will follow. If the curiosity is mutual.]

So he joins him, uninvited as he is and entirely casual. Adjusting his glasses, he tugs them off. The light makes him blink. How tiresome.]
