[ On some days, Zoey is a paper pusher. Others, she's consoling the victims of crimes committed. Sometimes she's too dead tired to go to her apartment and sleeps on one of the cots available at the station she's working on.
On other days, she's slapping the pavement. Sometimes she's diving into it, grabbing hold of a suspect. Or writing a citation to some poor slob on the street. Or having to deal with someone aggressive, waving her pistol in the air.
[ Off shift is sometimes the best kind, as there is so much bullshit a girl can take. When it's time for her to take off that cap, she goes to whatever she can to decompress and relax. The arcade she now frequents in, the movies, the mall - anything.
Back home she used to be really picky and uppity about her tastes.
It only takes the end of the world for everything to cater to her now.
[Jayden was getting off his shift at about the same time as Zoey, from the looks of it, and while he was grabbing his things from his desk, he glanced over at her. ARI went into his pocket, and he grinned.]
