He managed to snatch the pants out of the air. Hopefully they would fit. His shirt could be tucked in and made to look decent. "Thank you."

Even those words came out touchy. He'd left Senbonzakura back at the house, not thinking that he'd need his sword during the daylight hours. With a newly created hole in the belt, the pants fit, even if they were still almost short on him. He huffed out a breath. Why did he have to ask help from the only short taichou?

Because there hadn't been anyone else. And he would stop analyzing that, because it made his head hurt.

Gathering up his clothing, he stepped out of the changing room, and realized he was still taller than Hitsugaya. Well, that made him feel slightly better. "Thank you." He said again, irritatedly brushing his hair out of his face. It wouldn't hold the kenseikan, which was carefully tucked into his briefcase.

That usual cold aloofness from Kuchiki was still gone, it seemed. Under normal circumstances, Hitsugaya would have found the irritability annoying, but in this case he still found himself suppressing the urge to smirk.

And he stomped down on that urge even harder when Kuchiki exited the changing room, clad in the pants that were slightly too short and a shirt that looked too big on him despite the clear effort to make it appear otherwise. He refused to show how funny he found this turn of events.

Hell, he wasn't even bothered that Kuchiki was still taller than him, even though some part of him had been hoping otherwise.

"There's nothing else you need?"

"No nothing." He snapped, wanting nothing more than to get a few changes of clothing - what size was anyone's guess - and then get home. He'd have to cancel classes, and do something about the papers that were to be handed back. Perhaps his TA would believe him the 'sensei's' son. How damned ridiculous.

"Do you know how many others were effected by this?"

His long sweeping stride that he'd spent countless years perfected didn't work either. Dammit, he was back to the gangly fumbling teen he'd been back just before Yoruichi had disappeared.

If he thought he could hunt the woman down, he'd do it himself.

That was one hell of a graceless stride. Surely Kuchiki had been through some training by the time he'd actually been that age; why such an awkward gait?

Well, he could guess why, actually. The drastic change in height would have altered his centre of gravity and he needed time to adjust. That didn't stop the smug satisfaction at seeing him fumble about, though.

"Try not to fall over. I'd imagine this is embarrassing enough as it is. And you're going to need at least a few changes of clothes. Nothing at the house will fit you properly now."

All of it was either too big or too small, after all. He didn't imagine Kuchiki would want to try walking around with either option.

He shook his head. "I don't know precisely how many. There was a certain amount of chaos outside, however. You're hardly the only one."
