"I'm only coming along so you don't trip and die or something," he responded flatly, predictably. It wasn't like he wanted to go to the park with her or anything like that.

Despite what he claimed, however, he was glancing around. He didn't spend a lot of time outside of the house, that was true; he'd been more focused on watching her and Mytho and making sure they stayed out of trouble. Yeah, right.

In any case, he was mainly here to keep an eye on her (because who knew what she'd get into if he wasn't), although he wasn't quite comfortable with leaving Mytho behind, either.

Regardless. "You like it that much?"

"I'm not gonna trip and die! I'm not that clumsy. Besides, that's impossible anyways." She said, her smile turning somewhat into a scowl as e talked. He really could be frustrating sometimes...

Despite the slight scowl, however, she really was excited about being outside and going to the park. The past few weeks hadn't exactly been easy on her, but it seemed like things were getting better, at the very least. So, as she walked, the spring in her step remained despite his comments.

"Of course I like it that much! This city is really bad, but there are some parts of it that are really nice, at the same time. Like the park!"

The first comment earned her a snort, but not much else. Impossible or not, she'd still find a way to do it. Or she'd get herself into trouble some other way, knowing her. His glances around became more of a watch, now, keeping an eye out for anything or anyone that could be dangerous.

To his credit, though, he didn't do much else to bring down her spirit. It was good to see her finding pleasure in something in this city, and as much as he'd claim going to the park was a waste of time, he didn't mind it half as much as he said he did. He'd prefer the trees and foliage over a smoggy building, anyway. So, this time, rather than make a comment:

"We can take Mytho next time."

"That'd be really fun! I bet he'd really like it, too. Maybe he could do ballet there and everyone-"

Then, she pauses, and her walking slows. Out of the corner of her eye, she sees a small bird about to begin the journey across the road - she also sees that there's a car coming down the road, though it's still far away. Her eyes widen, and she looks back towards Fakir before taking a step. She wonders if she should turn into Tutu before going out to save it, but - no. This is something that she herself can do. The car is still at the opposite end of the street; she definitely has time to go grab the bird if she's still normal.

She takes another step, hurriedly this time.

Even Sissel had to admit, it was kind of funny how he had a knack for being in the right place at the right time.

I'm starting to think I might be a bad luck charm, though. Poor Ahiru...

Fortunately, when you're a ghost, it's easy to sneak down onto the scene of an accident, past the crowds of bystanders on the sidewalk, past the police officers waving people away, past the EMTs trying to pry the poor dead girl's body out of the arms of the ponytailed-frowning boy she was with. That sight brought a little pang of sorrow to Sissel's heart... or it would have, if ghosts had hearts.

Don't worry. I won't let a friend suffer a needless death like this. His soul jumped into Ahiru's lifeless body, and the world faded away into the endless space of Ghost World ( ... )

She couldn't remember when she closed her eyes, now, but out of nowhere, she saw an unfamiliar man next to her. Disoriented, confused, and upset, her soul scanned the area quickly before he spoke.

Ahiru?

Startled, her soul looked toward him again; she still hadn't looked down at her body yet. Instead, she paused before she addressed him.

"Who are you?"

After she spoke, though, she looked down and saw- a person. Could it be-? A cold feeling came over her as she stared.

"Is that...?"

"It's me. Sissel," he said, tugging on the collar of his suit. "... sort of. It's kind of a long story."

"But the important thing is that this is the Ghost World. This is where ghosts go when they die. And yes... that's your body down there. You got in an accident with a car, it looks like."

There's a pause as she listens to him and continues to stare downwards, and then, like a flash, all of it comes back. Suddenly, she looks normal again as she stares back at him with renewed recognition (the voice, if nothing else, is familiar), but there's a long pause on her end. Where ghosts go when they die... Shouldn't it have been back home? At least, that's what everyone had told her. When she finally speaks up, it's clear she's hesitant and very frightened.

"I'm dead?"
