Danny entered the restaurant with smile on his face. He had heard the music from outside and decided to see what was going on. He moved through the tables until he spotted the skeleton bard on the piano. The feline smiled and did a small dance to the tune over to the bard.

"Wow. You play really well sir."

Brooke had actually been so caught up in his playing he hadn't actually noticed Danny come in the door. So when someone complimented him on his playing he simply looked up and said with a smile,

"Why thank yo-..." Brooke then noticed that he seemed to be a rather large talking cat. He thought he had seen him on the NV network once or twice but seeing him in person was another thing altogether. "Holy cow! You're a cat! ... wait? Are you a cat? I don't want to be rude if you're not, but that's just downright amazing! And you dance too!" Brooke was having one of those moments when he was simply in awe.

"Ah! Where are my manners? Please forgive me, I was a little startled when I first saw you my good friend. Allow me to introduce myself properly. My name is Brooke, Brooke the bard, and welcome to my humble establishment, Brooke's! The finest mix of dining and music you could ever hope to find! Yohohoho!"

Danny smiled wide and laughed happily. He extended his hand after Brooke introduced himself.

"Yep! I'm a cat alright. Name's Danny. Nice to meet you Brooke, sir!"

Brooke shook his hand delighted by Danny's cheery disposition despite having just met a talking skeleton. He thought however, that perhaps if one is a talking cat, a talking skeleton might not really seem so strange.

"What can I do for you today my good Danny? Are you perhaps here to sample our fine cuisine? Did the sound of my music draw you in? If so might I be able to interest you in a few musical items I have out back? Have you ever considered the possibilities of show business in Siren's Port? You seem to have a certain natural flair for it. Yohohoho! I seem to be getting distracted, but I suppose that's what happens when you lose your mind. Yohohoho!"

Undertaker could relay in his love for minding shops and his devotion to his business, and so he stood watch from a corner he'd chosen for quite a while, just watching. He hadn't used the door, rather passed through space as a reaper can and placed himself in the very back of the restuarant. Tea wasn't quite necessary then, as he was more content to watch the skeleton in his duties. The fact that there was a skeleton moving at all sparked an untold level of curiosity in the man whose profession surrounded corpses.

The melody from the piano made the grin already teasing across his lips break and reveal a sliver of his teeth. He wouldn't interrupt, no, he would wait for Brooke to notice him first.

Brooke's nonexistent ears had been perked to the sound of anyone entering the door so when he had been playing his piano he hadn't expected to have anyone enter without using the door. It took him long into his piano playing until Brooke finally noticed that in the back of his store there was a man sitting at a table. A man that he was fairly certain he recognized.

"Ah! Umm... you're, the undertaker are you not? How did you get in here? I could have sworn I didn't hear the door." Then he thought about it a bit more and came to the conclusion, "Ah, I must not have heard you come in over the sound of my own music, sorry. Would you like me to get anything for you? I must admit I never expected to have you as a guest in my store, but it's rather interesting to meet you in person. Yohohoho!" Brooke had walked up to his table, and as he was talking, gradually lowering his voice from a shout across the room, to simply talking to him, as he finally made his way to his table.

"Yes, I am Undertaker~" Not exactly clarifying, as he was named after his profession, and it had been so for as long as he could remember. A wicked giggle spilled from him at the mention of the door, and the lack of sound from it, he didn't need the door, but he also wasn't quite inclined to tell the talking skeleton such. How badly he wished for the distance between them to be closed. Would the bone feel like all the bones he knew of from the past if he so touched that quivering mandible with his fingers? Or would it feel differently, as it was not devoid of life as such?

"It is my pleasure entirely, good sir, to meet you in person. I have been wishing to do so for quite some time," he cooed after the man, voice cracking in pitch and mirth.

Brooke felt a little freaked out to be meeting him in person, he felt as if this man wanted to use his ribs as a xylophone. However, Brooke was first and foremost, a gentleman, and it would be rude to turn away a customer just because he got some 'weird vibes' from him.

"Oh well, thank you... I think. Would you like me to get you... umm... some tea?"

What hiatus |D heavenly_earth June 5 2011, 00:30:19 UTC
Having promised to visit Brooke's shop whenever it re-opened, Neji took a break from monitoring the streets to drop by. Although it had been several months since Brooke had been present in the city, the shop was similar to the way it had been, providing a sense of normalcy that he hadn't experienced in awhile.

It was a nice chance to relax, particularly amidst the chaos that had taken hold of the city in the past few days over an assassination that was easily predictable. But at least the company executives had something else to focus on for awhile he decided, picking up a short menu and looking it over.

"I'm surprised you managed to get this shop back so quickly. From what I was aware, it's gone under several renovations since your absence."

Brooke spotted his favorite and longest time customer walk in the door and was positively beaming to see him again. Rather than let any of his employees wait on him, he went right over to his table himself, just like old times ( ... )

Slow though! Sorry! heavenly_earth June 8 2011, 04:41:11 UTC
Brooke was still the strangest thing Neji had come across in Siren's Port and although he came here expecting to see him, he still blinked in mild surprise.

"Yes, it's been awhile," he agreed with a polite nod. "It's good to know your team was taking care of things here, and I look forward to visiting regularly again."

Sector 4 was close enough to both 2 and 3 that it wasn't a long trip to make, and Brooke always managed to intrigue him in some fashion. Music wasn't something he was interested in or had a particular taste for, but it was nice sometimes. Relaxing.

"Tea will be fine, though I'm willing to try a small entrée if you'd like."

"So whatever happened to bringing that cute friend of yours? Tenten was it? I thought you were going to bring her by at some point too. Although to be fair perhaps you might be a little nervous about introducing her to a walking corpse. Yohohoho!" Brooke said as he sorted through the menus to try to find an entree Neji might find interesting.

"Ah, here's a few dishes that you might actually like... although to be fair, I can't remember serving you any food before, so I'm not sure what kinds of foods you'd like for certain. Yohohoho! Our soup of the day is a spicy pumpkin soup with chiken, and our special is Herring Soba. Our herring is really quite fresh today, so I'd personally advise that, although I've heard good things about the spicy pumpkin chicken soup." Brooke handed Neji the menu so that Neji could have a look and decide for himself on an entree.

She'd been meaning to come and see him ever since Samus had gotten word that Brooke was back, but one thing had led to another and she'd never gotten around to making the time.

It was time for that to change. Maybe things weren't always super smooth between them, but she'd missed him while he was gone and now was a chance to see him again.

As usual, Samus was dressed warmly for the weather, with a light trench-coat hanging around her lithe frame as she sauntered into Brooke's. Slipping into a table she watched him play the violin with a slight smile on her face, waiting for a break to interrupt him.

"You play as well as I remember." Since she was such an expert on music and all.

Brooke heard a voice he had not heard in a very long time. His face seemed to light up, when he looked up from his violin he had been so intently focused on, to see the familiar face of a certain blonde haired bounty hunter. He hadn't heard anything from her ever since he had returned to Siren's Port, and he had been worried that she had died or vanished like so many of the other people he'd known. A worry, that was alleviated when he saw her sitting at a table not far from where he had been playing ( ... )

"It's going to take more then what this place throws at me to take me out long term. I've been through worse." She grins, pointing to the diamond spaed burn scar around her right eye. "Although at this rate I'll be a big mass of scars by the end of it. This happened thanks to some zealots."

The bright music jangled down a street lined with terse faces, out of sync with the atmosphere and the quiet padding of a certain black cat with a blue ribbon tied around its tail, as it headed towards its source. These days, Bernkastel always moved through the city like this. Humans... were just too annoying sometimes, and with the assassination of that governor sharpening everyone's suspicions... cats received far less attention than a witch.

Weaving in and out of the legs of other people, she slipped into the store and under an unoccupied table. There was no sound as she transformed back into her original form. Ignoring the startled looks, she took a seat, folded her hands in her lap, and waited.

Brooke who had been at the piano when this had occurred had not seen her come in the door as a cat. But when he had glanced over at one of the tables, it looked like she had almost materialized out of thin air. That young lady was a very strange one to Brooke, and he had been slightly skeptical of her abilities as a witch. Even now though as he made his way to her table to see to her personally, he was a little skeptical, but a man can only be so skeptical when he is a walking talking skeleton.

"You came after all, I must say I'm rather delighted to see that you did. Would you perhaps like to see one of our tea menus? Or were you more interested in just a chat, with some tea on me? Although not literally, as they don't make this suit anymore. Yohohoho!" Brooke quipped as he drank some tea, being extra careful not to spill any on himself, as then he'd look twice as foolish for bringing it up.

whooooa, this is ultra-late, sorry about that! imperils June 22 2011, 17:49:34 UTC
Blank violet eyes tracked Brooke as he approached the table. Though her gaze never wavered, Bernkastel was less interested in the skeleton than the turmoil of the store that he picked his way through. The people here weren't all "Newcomers," that was obvious enough. It seemed the tension of the streets was inescapable, even in here. More wary stares, more forced smiles. Curious.

However, she voiced none of her speculations to Brooke, merely looked right in those bleached eye sockets when he reached her. "...a chat," she replied. "But, it would be more pleasant over tea. Black, with dried plums, if you have them."

She also said nothing concerning the impossibilities of a bare-bones skeleton gulping down tea. It might be a head-scratching conundrum for humans but to her... whether Brooke was actually drinking the tea or not... did not even merit a thought. Nothing that was worth a shred of her attention, no tidbit for her to tear open and sate her boredom on.

But, the "chat," a word thrown out so casually, just might become one.

Brooke made his way to the kitchen to craft the best tea he could possibly create, just to show this witch what he was made of. "Bone. Yohohoho!" Brooke laughed at his own joke at his inner thoughts as he got some dried plums from one of the cabinets and concocted what he was hoping to be the most exquisite tea this restaurant had ever produced. He made sure that the water was just the right temperature, he calculated the amount of dried plum and tea leaves necessary to be simply divine, and he even poured himself a small cup to make sure it was up to standards. With a long steady taste test, he was more than satisfied and prepared the pot of tea to be served on a silver platter with condiments like sugar and cinnamon in case she liked to add them to her tea ( ... )
